Best Buy, a retailer of consumer electronics and entertainment software, has stated that they are launching their own branded mobile broadband internet service termed as 'Best Buy Connect' on July 11, 2010.
According to the company, the Best Buy Connect is a mobile broadband service that stands out from the rest of the mobile broadband offerings by vying to address some difficulties faced by people in mobile networking. With Best Buy's service customers get to enjoy more flexibility, freedom, convenience and support.
The company's service will run on Sprint's (News - Alert) 3G network and will be available to customers with or without contracts at prices beginning from $29.99 for 250 MB.
Jed Stillman, vice president of Best Buy Connect has commented that they are building on a great brand and foundation to enable people to rely on them for one-stop shopping and support for their mobile computing experience, and Best Buy customer support continues after purchase. The service is a natural addition to Best Buy's growing portfolio of private label products and services that better enable consumers to connect with the things and people they love.
Best Buy Connect has stated that they offer flexible mobile broadband options that let users connect to the Internet from practically anywhere. The mobile broadband service will allow users to browse the internet, access files and send e-mail when they are on the go. Users on subscription will get the service activated and Best Buy will keep them connected with personal help and specialized support.
The service also allows users to track their data usage and avoid overage charges. The service also comes with a Reward Zone program through which users can earn points for dollars spent on Best Buy Connect monthly service fees and any overage charges on their account.
Best Buy Connect claims to have joined a growing portfolio of exclusive branded content, connections and services that deliver the advantages of what the company calls the "digitally connected world" easily and seamlessly to consumers. Customers who purchase selected Gobi-embedded laptops or netbooks from most Best Buy stores in the U.S. will have an opportunity to subscribe to Best Buy Connect beginning July 11.
Recently, Best Buy Mobile exclusively unveiled HTC (News - Alert) EVO 4G and sold video hardware bundled with CinemaNow Online.
