Threadbox Group Communications Service Available for Public Beta

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor

Threadbox announced that it has opened its previously closed beta to include expansive customer usage of Threadbox's real-time collaboration service for workgroups. This was limited to individual professionals, businesses and project managers with invite codes previously.

Now Threadbox is releasing a beta service release which encompasses all features requested, defined and affirmed by workgroups using Threadbox's easy-to-use communications and collaboration platform, said company sources.

In a release Michael Cerda (News - Alert), CEO and co-founder of Threadbox said, "We've found very strong validation for how simple and intuitive this product is for a very horizontal sampling of workgroups. Simplicity means no learning curve, means more people can use it, means workgroups can make decisions and get things done more efficiently than ever before."

The company has been monitoring customers since the launch of Threadbox as Cc:Betty a year back. Customer research has shown favorable opinions of Threadbox's simple, Web-based approach to collaboration. This may be because it focuses on collapsing various communication channels and the associated documents, images and assets into one "threaded" conversation.

Also it was found that work groups of 10 or lesser numbers preferred threadbox more which is indicative that group communications is imperative for collaboration solutions, said Threadbox sources.

The main findings of the customer research concerning Threadbox usage include statistics of customers' preferences and reactions. It was found that 92 percent of beta customers will be "disappointed" if they were not able to use Threadbox anymore, with 71 percent recommending it to friends. Each user can easily bring in 3 more customers to Threadbox.

On an average threads last for 4 days which shows the need for ad hoc collaboration. Users average 25 messages per thread. Also it was found that 59 percent of threads are using Threadbox for simple voting, tasks, or conference call tools, revealed official sources.

Threadbox is a simple and pragmatic collaboration platform that helps workgroups effortlessly increase productivity by leveraging the entire work group's conversations, files, tasks, dates, and opinions. Threadbox makes collaboration as easy as email and instant messaging, besides being as comprehensive and traditional as any collaboration service. It has been optimized to  improve productivity for small workgroup communications and collaboration.
