EF Johnson Technologies has reportedly signed a deal worth $3.3 million to provide its Hybrid IP25 to help first responder two-way radio calls roam between trunked and conventional systems.
The communication system is designed to provide roaming type of two way radio communication, connecting trunked and conventional telecom arrangements.
"Our Hybrid IP25 system is the first true hybrid network, in which first responders can operate and interoperate between conventional and trunked systems,” Michael Jalbert, president and CEO of EF Johnson Technologies, said in a statement. "This hybrid radio system is based on Voice over Internet Protocol, which enables it to gracefully scale to accommodate future expansions. Our Hybrid IP25 system is the most cost-effective way to provide wide area coverage and innovative features such as roaming and mobility, which are normally only found on trunked systems that cost millions of dollars more."
The Hybrid IP25 system is reported to have important characteristics such as
- Facility for flawless movement and connectivity with trunked, as well as usual normal systems to get rid of the need for physical routing of calls.
- Incorporation of totally disseminated switchless design to avoid single level breakdown.
- Universal type network management features for the exchange involving trunked and normal systems for reducing the capital expenditure and running costs.
EF Johnson Technologies has developed innovative products to meet the telecommunication requirements since its inception. The products are marketed under the brand names such as EF Johnson, 3e Technologies (News - Alert) International, and Transcrypt International. The elite cliental lists of the company include public and private organizations and reputed industries.
"Over the last few years, we have invested significant resources into our systems infrastructure with unique technology applications, user interfaces, and cost effective approaches for our customers," Jalbert said. "We are pleased to note that contract awards like this one, which are integral to our long term strategic growth, validate the direction we have taken in this market."
