In a release, Martin Mooney, territory manager, New Zealand, Attachmate, said, “Gen-i understands the challenges its clients face when moving to an IP Telephony network, along with strategies for ensuring that networks perform at their highest standard. During the last three years, we’ve enjoyed working closely with Gen-i and watched them achieve fantastic results for their customers. We’re thrilled to formalize the partnership and continue raising the profile of VoIP and UC technologies together across the region.”
Gen-i has deployed an in-house infrastructure for NetIQ which consists of 20 virtual servers for hosting managed services for NetIQ clients. Gen-i uses NetIQ App Manager for VoIP, NetIQ AppManager for RIM BlackBerry (News - Alert) Enterprise Server and NetIQ Analysis Center for monitoring several IP Telephony networks. It also monitors mobile devices which are covered in its Managed BlackBerry Service. Gen-i plans to expand its managed services capability to encompass Unified Communications (News - Alert) also.
Selwyn Rimmer, Gen-i’s head of integrated systems, business, pointed out that being a NetIQ MSP partner increases his company’s capability to serve its voice application clients optimally. As organizations use infrastructure implemented by multiple vendors the NetIQ solution allows easy monitoring of such complex infrastructures effectively, he noted.
“The flexibility of the NetIQ solution is great as it allows us to monitor IP Telephony networks from all the major players including Cisco (News - Alert), Nortel and Microsoft,” Rimmer said. “We get deep visibility into client networks, which allow us to resolve issues efficiently, often before the client is even aware of them. In addition, NetIQ solutions are very intuitive, which is great for training new people and managing our internal costs.”
NetIQ’s AppManager Suite enables comprehensive systems management by monitoring, reporting and analyzing telephony networks for optimal diagnostics and resolution. It manages several components ranging from physical hardware, server applications and end-user response time.
