Teoma Standardizes Ruckus Wireless ZoneFlex Smart WLAN Technology for VoIP, WLAN Deployment
By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor
Teoma Systems, a voice, data and video solutions systems integrator, said that it has standardized on Ruckus Wireless (News - Alert) ZoneFlex Smart Wireless LAN (WLAN) products and technology for all of its voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and next-generation wireless LAN (WLAN) deployments.
Teoma Systems plans to provide the Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi equipment to its clients in the hospitality, education and manufacturing arenas. Teoma officials said that they decided to exclusively offer Smart Wi-Fi to their clients because of “ease of use” and “affordable price” of the Ruckus equipment.
“We've been searching for a better Wi-Fi system that can support a whole new generation of applications and traffic being driven by a fundamental new mobile digital lifestyle,”
said Neil Dishman, president at Teoma Systems.
said Neil Dishman, president at Teoma Systems.
Ruckus is one of the very few companies that is “truly innovating unique technology” improving Wi-Fi performance and reliability without cost or complexity. Dishman said that this has opened the door to new business across nearly every vertical market and that the company grows because everyone is looking for smarter Wi-Fi.
The Wi-Fi system, Ruckus ZoneFlex, is based on patented beamforming technology. In addition to extending Wi-Fi signal range, the technology also automatically adapts to changes in the environment to ensure optimal performance.
With Ruckus Wireless ZoneFlex Smart WLAN products, businesses—having large and small networking footprints—are capable of offering broader, reliable coverage for next-generation applications like voice and video, at a “much lower cost,” said company officials.
Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi is based on recent technical advances that enable Wi-Fi signals to be focused only toward users requiring service. And, Wi-Fi signals are constantly routed over the highest performing paths and around obstacles that cause interference and degraded performance.
This constant routing is possible through the use of beamforming and beamsteering technology called BeamFlex, said officials.
David Callisch, vice president of marketing at Ruckus Wireless, said that the Wi-Fi market is changing to support a much broader range of applications and traffic types than ever before, and the channel is poised to capitalize.
“Solution providers like Teoma Systems clearly recognize the importance of better Wi-Fi and its strategic importance within the enterprise network landscape,” he said.
