MegaPath Announces New Online Resource to Help SMBs Cut Costs
By Jayashree Adkoli, TMCnet Contributor
MegaPath, a provider of managed IP communications services in North America, recently launched a new Web page on its Web site called “Connected Small & Medium Business” dedicated to small-to-medium businesses (SMBs), in order to encourage small business to follow good cost cutting practices and implement innovative services.
According to MegaPath (News - Alert), its new Web page is a comprehensive resource center that provides information on the connectivity, managed security and mobility services that are available in the market. These resources will facilitate SMBs in making wise decisions, thereby improving their bottom line. The company will also provide objective information that is required to resolve the issues and challenges that are faced by the current SMB market.
“Competition from e-tailers, large discounters and similar businesses mean that small business owners need to differentiate themselves through enhanced services and superior customer service, while operating with limited human resources,” said Dan Foster (News - Alert), senior VP of sales at MegaPath. “As a fully-managed voice and data services provider, MegaPath becomes an extension of a small businesses workforce. We enable businesses to invest their dollars towards developing new products, hiring more employees and connecting to buyers around the country.”
Some of the resources available on MegaPath’s new Web page include white papers and articles covering topics such as security, business continuity and how to best implement a telecommuting program, said the company. Additionally, the company will be providing useful links to a broad-array of telework-focused associations and government agencies, and related third-party Web sites.
MegaPath said that it offers a range of fully-managed line of services for SMBs. These services offer them SMBs with enterprise quality voice and data services without the costs associated with building out an infrastructure or managing and maintaining the network. Some of the lines of services include: broadband access, dial back-up, site-to-site VPN, personal firewall and global remote access.
MegaPath's Broadband Access offers nationwide Internet access with speeds ranging from 1.5 Megabytes per second (Mbps) to 6.0 Mbps, while the company’s Global Remote Access offers global Internet connectivity over a virtual network for mobile workers via analog dial-up, wired broadband and Wi-Fi.
Facilitating in coping an unexpected broadband outage, MegaPath's Dial Back-up service diverts customer traffic to an analog line. The company’s Site-to-Site VPN connects all remote locations to the same network, while providing secure access to and sharing of files, applications and other resources. The Remote Access VPN from MegaPath allows mobile workers and telecommuters to access corporate applications. The company’s Personal Firewall protects both employee PCs and a corporate network from unauthorized entry.
The new Web page also provides a ROI (return on investment) calculator, wherein the prospective MegaPath customers can enter their current voice and data services costs in to the calculator to check cost savings and highlight the value that a managed services provider brings to any business.
