Unison Technologies has announced the launch of its Unison (News - Alert) Business Technology Assistance Program for New York City metropolitan area organizations, offering a free unified telephony, e-mail and instant messaging system to small and medium-sized businesses and organizations in the area.

The company will choose 10 organizations to receive the free offerings, and expects them to increase worker productivity and cut costs with this program.

Chief Marketing Officer Rurik Bradbury said that Unison is making possible for small and medium businesses to afford unified communications. Until recently, only large enterprises could afford UC solutions, he said, but thanks to Unison, SMBs can also use a unified system to lower their IT and telephony costs.

Bradbury said that the Unison Business Technology Advancement Program offers deployment and maintenance at no charge. He said he’s is confident that the companies within the program will not only improve the way staff communicate, but will also be able to reduce their operating costs.

According to the company, the 10 chosen enterprises will receive: Unison Server unified communications server software; Unison Desktop software for each computer;
Server and networking hardware for onsite use or hosted server; a desktop phone for each user in the company; and Unison support services including deployment, maintenance and software upgrades.

Companies interested in the program must apply before May 22 through Unison’s Web site. All New York-based business or organization sized between 10 and 50 employees are eligible.
