EtherSpeak Communications Reveals Success Stories
By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor
EtherSpeak Communications, a provider of open standards communications solutions, has announced new case studies for its SureTrunk service offering.
SureTrunk is reportedly the world's first and only native session initiation protocol (SIP) trunking solution for the ShoreTel community.
ShoreTel (News - Alert) provides Internet Protocol (IP) unified communications systems which enable companies to seamlessly integrate all communications-voice, data, messaging-with their business processes.
SIP trunking connects a PBX (News - Alert) to the Public Telephone Network via the Internet using the SIP VoIP standard.
ShoreTel picked SureTrunk as a Technology Partner Program (TPP) solution in July 2008. Since then, there has been steady growth in the adoption of native SIP trunking, EtherSpeak said.
SureTrunk allows customers to migrate without enterprise edge devices such as local PSTN gateways, ISDN Basic Rate Interfaces (BRIs) or Primary Rate Interfaces (PRIs).
It also eliminates the requirements of additional hardware, firewalls or gateways and eliminates the risks associated with SIP trunking.
SureTrunk substantially optimizes capacity utilization rates of customer ShoreTel systems. Compared to non-native solutions that require additional capital expenses, SureTrunk provides cost benefits as well as performance enhancements, thereby contributing for increased productivity.
“It is gratifying to see the warm reception that ShoreTel customers have shown us with our SureTrunk solution,” said Neil Darling, president & CEO at EtherSpeak Communications. “We believe the adoption rate is evidence that companies of all sizes are seeking new forms of innovation provided by manufacturer certified native SIP trunking solutions.”
Companies featured in the case study include Magna International, a leading auto parts maker in Canada; Brock White, a St. Paul, Minn.-based Midwest distributor of construction materials; and Great American Group, which was selected by Circuit City to manage its high-profile going-out-of-business sale, EtherSpeak said.
These case studies, according to Darling, reveal the versatility of SureTrunk solution to afford the customer.
In December 2008, EtherSpeak announced new pricing plans, known as Freedom plans, for SureTrunk. Freedom plans include a monthly rate as low as $32.50 per trunk for local and long distance calling in the continental U.S. and Canada.
