AT&T Improves VoIP for Small BusinessesAT&T Business Solutions has announced the availability of AT&T (News - Alert) U- verse High Speed Internet Max 18 service for small businesses over the AT&T U-verse platform.
Currently available in more than 70 U.S markets, this service features speeds of up to 18 Mbps downstream, and reportedly the “fastest” high speed U-verse Internet package offered by the company.
Depending on the applications needed, AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet Business Edition can serve up to 50 Internet user connections in the customer's business.
The customers of AT&T Business U-verse will have the option of selecting static IP addresses as part of their service. Company officials said that this will enable small businesses to host their own domain for Web or email hosting purposes.
The company offers a variety of static IP plans to small businesses that allows them to customize their package to meet their business needs.
AT&T Business U-verse uses advanced, fiber-based IP infrastructure to deliver high speed wired and wireless connectivity. It offers subscribers free unlimited access to the company’s nationwide Wi-Fi network. Officials said that the network comprises of more than 17,000 Wi-Fi hotspots nationwide.
In addition, it also offers subscribers e-mail storage and online protection packages, including anti- spyware, anti-virus, pop-up blocker and SpamGuard Plus; free wireless office networking; wireless-enabled equipment that comes with four Ethernet ports, a USB port for direct connection and a built-in two-tier firewall.
Officials said that the “faster speeds” available to AT&T Business U-verse customers also enhance the performance of optional managed services like AT&T Remote Vault and AT&T Shared Web Hosting.
“Our new Max 18 package provides outstanding connectivity at a great price and offers small businesses more ways to stay connected at faster speeds than ever before," said S. Dale McHenry, vice president for Enterprise Network Services.
The AT&T Business U-verse network, officials said expands the company’s footprint of business-class broadband availability. This is expected to allow more customers to access AT&T High Speed Internet services. Anshu Shrivastava is a contributing editor for TMCnet.
