According to an announcement this week, Ontario, Canada-based TalkSwitch has surpassed the 35,000 unit shipment milestone for its phone systems.

At this point, TalkSwitch (News - Alert) officials say, they’ve shipped more phone systems than companies such as Digium, Allworx, Fonality and Microsoft, some of which entered the segment after TalkSwitch began operating.

Jan Scheeren, president and chief executive officer of TalkSwitch, said the company is “way ahead of its competitors.”

“We’ve sold more systems because we understand small business better,” Scheeren said. “No other company has focused exclusively on small business telephony as long as we have, and there’s no shortcut for the history of real-world experience and customer feedback that we’ve built since we started.”

According to Scheeren, TalkSwitch products are very easy to install, which makes them highly user-friendly. In fact, says Scheeren, TalkSwitch is the company which pioneered customer-installable phone system and 70 percent of its systems have been installed by the customers themselves.

TalkSwitch has a distributor network with more than 1,500 resellers and distributors. In addition, the channel marketing programs utilized by TalkSwitch are conducive to small businesses. The company’s traditional PBX (News - Alert) and hybrid IP-PBX phone systems are the only ones in the market that come with free lifetime support and software upgrades. These systems have the lowest return rate in the industry.

Since its inception in 1990, TalkSwitch has served hundreds of small and multi-location businesses with its hybrid VoIP and traditional phone systems. TalkSwitch continuously upgrades it offerings to serve its customers better.

Earlier this year, TMCnet reported that TalkSwitch upgraded its management software, the company’s VoIP system offering. For its achievements, TalkSwitch earned itself a PHONE+ Top 50 Channel Program award in October. In addition, the readers of Small Business Computing Magazine honored TalkSwitch with the award for best business VoIP product, also in 2008.
