Hosted VoIP Co. Vocalocity Integrates iPhone with Internet Phone Service
By Anshu Shrivastava TMCnet Contributing Editor Vocalocity (News - Alert) today announced that it’s enhanced its business Internet phone service, which allows customers to route office calls to and from an iPhone.
The update, according to the company, untethers workers from the desk while providing them with the ability to make and receive critical calls that utilize their office phone system.
Vocalocity officials said that the unified communication solution delivers a means of maintaining a professional image regardless of location. Calls made from the iPhone (News - Alert) which are then routed via Vocalocity’s service contain the caller ID associated with the office phone, according to the company.
This enables customers and prospects to view the call as coming from a place of business rather than a cell phone. Officials said that Vocalocity users can be reached by customers as calls made to the business phone number are transferred to the iPhone.
“Vocalocity understands the benefits of extending the experience of its phone service beyond the desk and now delivers an easy way to build on the business applications offered through the latest version of the popular iPhone,” said Phil Hill (News - Alert), president of Vocalocity.
He also said that the company’s desire to integrate the iPhone with the service demonstrates an ongoing commitment to provide customers with the solutions that will help them succeed in their entrepreneurial endeavors.
Currently, the iPhone integration is available at no charge to Vocalocity customers, company officials say. This integration has been made possible through technology from RF.com, they say.
“RF.com is excited to work with the leading provider of Internet phone service to businesses with less than 20 employees,” said Marcelo Rodriguez, president and founder of RF.com. “Our relationship with Vocalocity marks the beginning of a long-term partnership addressing the needs of the rapidly growing number of iPhone users in small business.”
