Microsoft discloses another change in executive ranks

Doug Burgum, senior vice president of Microsoft Corp, plans to quit in June 2006 his day-to-day duties at the company's Microsoft Business Solutions to assume chairmanship of the division. Mr Burgum has headed MBS since 2000, the year Microsoft purchased his firm, Great Plains Software. The change is in line with a reshuffle in Microsoft's upper management. MBS, which supplies software to small companies, posted an operating loss of $12m-$31m in the three months to September 30.
